Themed reading time for ALL students with the goal of building literacy skills

Today's agenda:

Reading Tuesday & Thursday

  • As an advisory, watch the video in the center square for an introduction to Lee's Literacy initiative and September's reading theme 
  • Goal by the end of advisory on Reading Thursday:
    • Everyone will have read and made tic-tac-toe 
      • Individually or as an advisory
  • Goal by the end of 1st quarter
    • Every student & advisor will have spent 2 hours READING in advisory
  • Optional extension: 
    • Spend a little time on Thursday discussing what you read about

September Reading Choice Board: Banned Books/Censorship

Directions: Click the picture to read/watch/listen to information about censorship and banned books.  Each advisory should watch the video in the center square together.  Then, decide whether each student will complete tic-tac-toe individually or the advisory will work to complete three in a row together.

 

Everyone has 2 advisories to work toward the goal of learning about censorship and completing tic-tac-toe
