Note: The Harlem and Chicago Renaissances were connected and some of the same artists and writers were parts of both movements.  The Harlem Renaissance was in the 1920s and the Chicago Black Renaissance took place between 1930-1950 (and was followed by the Black Arts Movement).  Learn about these are movements and consider their connection and significance.
