Citation support: Escape from Camp 14

Noodletools: Step by step - citing sources 
Book  

Book

  1. Select: New Source
  2. Choose “print or in-hand” tab
  3. Choose “book”  from “what is it” list 
  4. Find ISBN on book (back cover or copyright page)
  5. Most times, DO NOT fill in boxes INSTEAD
  6. Find “World Cat” search box

  1. In box to right of ISBN, type in the ISBN from the book (NO dashes)                            
  2. Click “Search”
  3. Check to be sure that the correct book comes up
  4. Highlight (just click) on the citation
  5. Click “Import Selected Source” 
  6. Click “Continue”
  7. Check for any red squiggly lines or yellow triangles ▲ & correct
  8. Click “Save”
  9. Check formatting of citation
    1. Capitalization, italization, dates, etc.
Website  

Website

  1. Select: New Source
  2. Choose “website” from noodletools tabs
  3. Be sure to have your website open
  4. Determine what type of source you are viewing on the website.
    1. Example - “Blog”
  5. Fill in as much information as possible
  6. Click “save”
  7. Check formatting of the citation
    1. Capitalization, fonts, dates, etc.


** For the 2 PDF sources: “Findings of New Satellite Image Analysis” and “Poems for Kim” use the directions for citing a website - and select: “webpage“ for the type of source.

  1. Select: New Source
  2. Choose “website” from noodletools tabs 
  3. Choose  “Audio Podcast” from “what is it” list                                       
  4. Fill in as much information as possible
  5. Click “save”
  6. Check formatting of citation
    1. Capitalization, italization, dates, etc.
DVD icon  

DVD

  1. Select: New Source
  2. Choose “other” from noodletools tabs
  3. Select “CD-ROM etc”
  4. Select Film or video                                                              
  5. Fill in as much information as possible
  6. Click “save”
  7. Check formatting of the citation
  • Capitalization, fonts, dates, etc.
