Today's agenda

Responsible research means:

  • Keeping track of your sources using notecards & citing your sources in correct MLA format (bibliography)
  • Use the databases to find information about Political Parties in the United States
    • Democratic Party
    • Republican Party
  • Use the database information to answer the following questions:
    1. When was the party founded?
    2. What is the symbol of the party and why?
    3. How many presidents have been from the party?
    4. How recently did the party have a majority in the Senate, a majority in the House of Representative, and a president in the White House, all at the same time?
    5. What are the likely demographics (age, race, gender, education, income, location, etc.) of a member/supporter of the party?
    6. What is the party's platform on...
      • gun control?
      • immigration?
      • school vouchers?
  • Find 1 source from each database
  • Use the citation tool in each of the databases to locate & copy the MLA citation provided
  • Create a new project in Noodletools (see Noodletools tab)
  • Share your project with your US Government teacher.
  • Create a bibliography in Noodletools
  • Create a notecard for each source in Noodletools
  • Export your bibliography to a Google doc
