Databases are great!

Things to remember when using databases

  1. Database searches require  keywords
  2. Try the search tips below
    1. Each database (company) organizes information a little differently
    2. Learn to leverage the tools provided by the database (editors) to find the information you need
  3. Library databases  provide ready made MLA citations 
    1. The citation tool for each database (company) is slightly different. 
  4. Databases require Passwords when using them outside of school.

If you do not find the information you need in the overview article, you can use keywords to perform a basic or select "Search Options to try an advanced search.

Gale provides a "Browse Topics" option that allows you to see behind the curtain the way the information in the database is organized.

2. Leverage the tools to narrow your search and get to the specific information you need.
