Literary

Movements Research

Assignment Break Down

Essential Question:

What are the major authors, influences and characteristics of writing of a literary movement?

How does literature reflect and shape the events and people of its time?

Steps to Success:

You must learn the material first and read the texts BEFORE you can plan your lesson and teach it!

Getting Started

  1. Read through text book on your time period.
  2. Identify authors and characteristics of time period.
  3. Skim through piece and select 2 literature pieces to teach.

Research

  1. After reading through your text book what do you still need to know about your literary movement?  Identify your questions.
  2. Start looking through resources.  Not sure where to start?  Check out the databases page.  Blooms is a great first place to look.
  3. Take note and make sure to site your sources using Noodletools.

Images

Remember--You can't take images from google.  You must find images that you are legally aloud to use.  That means images can be: 1) in the public domain 2) in the creative commons or 3) purchased.  Fairfax County Public Schools purchases image databases for you to use in your school projects.  Check out Britannica Image Quest database under the "Finding Images" page.

Preparing Lesson

  1. Start your lesson plan using planning document.
  2. What are your lesson objectives?
  3. How are you going to make the lesson engaging?  Check out the strategies in the Lesson tab.
  4. How will you effectively use your 40 minutes of class time?
