What is Coding?

Coding is short for computer programming. It is a set of instructions a computer can understands and execute. Today learning to code is as simple as playing an app or online game. Anyone can do it!

What is the Hour of Code?

Hour of Code is a program put on by code.org to encourage millions of students around the world to spend an hour coding during the week of December (Dec. 3th-7th).  

Code.org offers free tutorials, lesson plans, support, and games that will teach beginning to advanced coders.

Step 3: Do Programs (students have option to pair up to solve challenges together)

 

Step 4: Everyone complete Reflection & Response google form below

In these self-paced tutorials you will write code to play a series of games.  No prior coding experience necessary!

Create your own app in JavaScript using blocks or text. You'll make a simple app with buttons, images, sounds and multiple screens that you can share with your friends or publish to a public gallery. If you've already done some coding with blocks, take your skills to the next level.\
